Lexie's Quilt

My friend Debby is a foster parent for high risk children. She recently took in a little girl that was one day old. She came straight from the hospital to Debby's Her name is Lexie. This little quilt is for Lexie.
This quilt has a story behind it. Diane, another quilty friend received the pink and yellow blocks in an exchange. She did not know what to do with them so I inherited them. I had some plain yellow so just cut out plain block for the alternate blocks. The back of the quilt is done in 30's fabric.
You really can't see the quilt pattern, but it is clouds. Now that I finally finished the binding I will take this to Lexie on Monday.
Thanks for dropping by. Happy Quilting, Paula

More Comfort Quilts

Here are two more Comfort quilts that just need bindings.

Our comfort quilts are donated to CPS (child protective services), the local Women's shelter, Hospice, the local dialysis center, and the local police and sheriff's departments, plus the Vetran's Hospital. I don't think I missed any but......

Making these comfort quilts is a way to give back to the community plus is a great way to learn how or practice your quilting.

Both of these quilts were meandered for the quilting as it is fast and easy.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Quilting, Paula

Another Charity Quilt

Here is another Comfort Quilt. Our Comfort quilt chairperson Sheila makes up these kits then I bring them home and sew them together. I will have to get a back, batting and binding for this quilt top so I can finish it up.
I really like the colors she chose for this quilt. It looks very manly. Great Job Sheila.
Thanks for dropping by. Happy Quilting, Paula

Charity Quilts

Our quilt guild makes charity quilts and I attended one of the sew days recently. While I was there I was able to quilt two children's quilts and I started another plus took home two more to quilts and another package for a quilt top.
This is one of the tops. Now to get the backing material and get it quilted and it will be finished.
Thanks for dropping by today.
Happy quilting, Paula

Welcome

Welcome to Paula's Pins and Needles

I have been asked why I do not have my own Quilting Blog? Hum! I guess because I take care of five other blogs I just never got around to making my own blog for quilting.

So....I guess I will start now.

This quilt I made for a friends first Grandchild.
They were doing the nursery in Red, White and Black with ladybugs.

I had a bit of a challenge with this quilt as all of the flowers are die cuts and I machine appliqued them onto the white. Then it was sew them all together, add the ladybug in the upper right and get it quilted.

For quilting I just did a quick meander. I really like how this turned out and really like the border fabric. Wish I could find more of it. I purchased it in Arizona last November and have not been able to find more.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great sewing day.
