Hunter Star Wall-Hanging

I took this Hunter Star Class at Thimble Towne given by Jeremy.  We used a different technique from the original Hunter Star quilt I made several years ago.  This class used a ruller which I just loved.  It was so easy and you could do several different sizes.  For this wall hanging I chose a smaller block.  I really wanted to do a good job on the quilting so It took me three weeks to quilt this.   I was pretty happy as to how it turned out.

Strip Club Tuesday

Twelve of us participated in Strip Club yesterday.  Too much fun.  If course I am sure Jeremy wanted to put me in a closet somewhere away from the class.  I was so excited to be able to sew again that I was totally wound up.  It was so nice to visit with everyone and catch up.

Of course all the Half Square triangles began to get to you after a while.  Of course they are much easier to make when you use the strip tube ruler.  Faster, but all the cutting and pressing made my wrist hurt.

Diane Holmes - Notice the black and grey pinwheels.  Too neat.  Love this.

Diane Brown's.  Her pinwheels are yellow and purple.

Joan's quilt.  Love the purple boarder.

Darby's quilt.  Wish I had a close up.  The quilting is just breath taking.  When I grow up I want to quilt like Darby.

Cheryl's Quilt.  This quilt is big and beautiful.  Cheryl always makes either Queen or king size quilts and quilts them on her home machine.

Here is Cheryl's Hunter Star quilt finished.  Look how those stars pop out.  Just gorgeous.

This will be our quilt for August.  You have your choice of Halloween or Batik strips.

Darby - The winner of next months strips.

Well folks,  that is all for today.  Thanks for stopping by.   Encourage each other in quilting.  Paula

Sewing Again

I was so thrilled to be able to sew at Sewsational Sunday Sew at Thimble Towne today.  I have not been able to sew for awhile.  I broke my glasses. (I mean shattered the glass inside my glasses)  Had to have a new eye exam as my old exam was to old.  Have you ever tried to sew in sun glasses?  Let me tell you it does not work.   Back to the glasses.  I had to purchase new glasses then try to get used to a new prescription.  Well.  I wore them for four days and was still not happy.  It made everything crooked in my right eye.  I mean crooked.  So back to have them recheck my prescription and make a whole new set of glasses.  I have now been wearing them for several days and am finally starting to get used to them.  At least I am not taking steps two feet above the sidewalk anymore and am not as dizzy (from the glasses, I will always be dizzy and I am not even blond). So......I finally got to sew today and was so happy with what I got done.  Yea.  Happy Quilting to all.

Challenge Quilts.

It was also Challenge Reveal last night and we had quite a variety for wall hangings.  There were several catagorys.  There were two color catagorys.  One was lime green and yellow the other was orange and purple.  There was a catagory where you had to use a certain number of 1" squares, a certain number of half square triangles.  And I think there was another but I can't remember. (Sorry)

Below are some of the photos I was able to take.  I did not get them all (again sorry).  Some sat down faster than I could snap the photos.

Hope you enjoy the different challenges.  Everyone did a great job.  It was really fun to see how everyone did something different and unusual.

Here are photos that I took.

Hope you enjoy all the different quilts.  Love all the different colors choices.
